Stay Classy, San Diego!

Stay Classy, San Diego!

What was popular in April? Consumer security and various news posts topped the list! I’m also working out the kinks on getting my daily links posted here.

Here are the five most popular posts from last month:

  1. What’s a Token? This post is inspired mostly by the “vendor marketing machine” as we as security professionals try to break through the FUD to get to an apples to apples comparison ((Ran out of space before I could throw in another cliché.)).  This post tries to put a little bit of sanity back into our lives by offering up a definition of what we can call a token.
  2. Avoid Looking Like a Rookie. History was created with this one as I finally earned myself a TROLL!  Of course, he was too cowardly to put his real information in the comment form, so I just ignored it. This post gives some basic tips to avoid looking like a rookie when doing a PCI Assessment.
  3. Key Logger Attacks on the Rise. This is no April Fools joke.  Visa released some valuable content for security professionals looking to keep the bad guys out of their environments.
  4. Views on Application Security. Do all security initiatives have to look like someone bringing a tank to kill a couple of common house flies?  I don’t think so, and walked through an example.  Some great comments on this one as well!
  5. The Mistakes QSAs Make. This post from last month is a call to all stakeholders!  I am refining a presentation on the mistakes that QSAs make, and will have a series of posts and a presentation later this year.  If you have an example, please comment here!

Thanks for stopping by, San Diego!
